Coming soon: A Triplex in Sumas
Habitat plans to begin construction on a two-story triplex at 221 Front St. in Sumas in 2025.
Our goal is to replace an existing single-family home devastated by the 2021 flooding into three permanently affordable units, including one four-bedroom, one three-bedroom, and one two-bedroom home. The four bedroom ground unit will be built above the floodplain base elevation and will incorporate many energy efficiency and disaster resilient features. It will also comply with wheelchair accessibility standards with two ADA bedrooms. The home was previously built by Habitat Whatcom, and was recently purchased by Habitat from the homeowner’s estate.
