Join us as we raise the roof—literally!—on the first four permanently affordable homes at Mateo Meadows in Everson. This milestone marks the culmination of our Home Builders Blitz, where teams of volunteers, sponsors, and community partners came together to frame these homes in just 10 build days.
To celebrate this incredible achievement, we’re hosting a Roof Raising Celebration featuring a live craning of the roof onto the homes, a delicious BBQ lunch from Double Barrel BBQ, and the presentation of our Housing Champion Awards to four outstanding local organizations and businesses who are helping us solve the affordable housing puzzle in Whatcom County.
We will begin craning the roof on around 11:45 AM. Lunch will begin around 12:30, followed by the presentation of our Housing Champion Awards.
This is more than just a construction milestone—it’s a moment to honor progress toward housing everyone can afford and this community’s work to build strength and resilience in Whatcom County.
