Our Telegraph Townhome Community continues to grow! On August 11th, two more families dedicated their homes, and joined the 8 families who have been calling Telegraph home for over a year. Juliana and her family, and Kelly and her son will be moving in. Two more families in the Kulshan Community Land Trust program will soon join them.
We were lucky to share that special day with some of our board members, family advocates, regular volunteers, as well as a group of RV Care-A-Vanners who were camped out at Telegraph. A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible, and thanks to our partners at Kulshan CLT, and the Whatcom Community Foundation.
We’re currently in the permitting stages, and hope to break ground on the next 11 homes at Telegraph soon.
Finally, we're going to have a home. We won't have to worry about winter and the cold coming into the house. It's the first time I feel like we'll have a real home."
I drove by Habitat every day when I went home. I didn't think I had a chance... I decided to put all of my free time into completing what I needed to do, whether I make it or not. That was my mindset. And then I got the letter — I read that letter 500 times!
