Building on Faith

“…Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” (1 John 3:18)

Building on Faith is a home building project that involves people of faith who want to make a difference in their communities by raising money, building homes, and offering a hand-up to local families needing safe, affordable housing.

Build Day Sponsors are asked to raise $5,000 (the average cost of construction materials for one day) and provide a team of up to 15 volunteers (subject to COVID protocols) to help build. This can be a great, meaningful fellowship activity, and no building experience is required.

We are also looking for groups to help in other ways. Perhaps your faith community cannot help support a build at this time, but has members who could make in kind donations of building supplies or professional services. Perhaps your group would like to provide coffee or lunch for other build site volunteers. There are many opportunities to help, and we welcome your ideas.

If your Whatcom County church, synagogue, temple, or group is interested in getting involved in Habitat’s mission, please contact our office. While Habitat is an ecumenical Christian ministry, we welcome volunteers, donors, and partner families from all faith traditions. We look forward to meeting with members of your community to discuss how your community might partner with Habitat.
