This coming Monday is World Habitat Day, a day designated by the United Nations to focus on the need for shelter for all God’s children.
Here in Whatcom County over 16%, or 32,000 people, live below the poverty line and nearly 20,000 live in substandard conditions.
Please help Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County make a difference to six local families by liking and sharing the posts on Habitat’s Facebook page over the next few days and buying your coffee this coming Monday at one of the participating businesses listed below.
“What kind of impact could I have?” one might ask. By contributing $3.00, or whatever your heart and wallet allows, you can not only say I’m making a difference locally but also I’m a part of helping 1,700 additional people put their children to sleep in safe, decent affordable shelter tonight throughout the world.
$3.00 is the average price of a cup of coffee. The following community minded merchants will be donating all or part of their coffee sales proceeds on World Habitat Day, Monday, October 6. Please stop by, buy a cup of coffee and say thank you for caring.
