We want to thank everyone who came out to our annual Raise The Roof Auction. It was a great success! We want to give a shout out to all of the businesses that donated items for the auction. We especially want to thank the crew at Command Aviation for being so generous and rolling out their airplanes so we could use the space for the auction. Also, we want to thank our auctioneer Tracy Olney for working the crowd and making everyone laugh.
We were blessed with the opportunity to help the Macy family shred their final mortgage payment. Calvin Macy had a few words to say about what it meant to him and his family to see such generosity in the community. He paused and looked around at the many tables of bidders. “It’s because of all of you that we have such a great house to live in and raise our children.”
As Tina Macy was technically the last person in their family to write the check, she had the honors of shredding their mortgage. Executive Director, John Moon said,” It’s so great to see the Macy family finally done with their mortgage. As one family finishes, another begins.” He nodded toward the table with the Van Dyken family.
Little Cody Van Dyken had his shot at throwing a paper airplane in our “Become and Airplane Engineer” contest. Like a rocket it took off across the room and managed the impossible. Although it wasn’t the winning throw, he sure did throw that plane far.
Here is a quick video of the winning throw.
