Foreign Exchange Volunteers from Japan

Habitat for Humanity Volunteers

No matter what part of the world you’re from, compassion breaks language barriers. Just ask Nami and Takahiro, the volunteers we’ve been lucky enough to host for the last few weeks.

About Nami & Takahiro

Both Nami and Takahiro are here from Saitama, a prefecture of Tokyo, Japan as foreign exchange students studying Business Administration. They each have their own host family here in Whatcom County. Nami says she enjoyed making cupcakes and talking with her host family, where as Takahiro was surprised by the large dinners at his host family’s house.

Regardless of cultural differences they may have enjoyed or found different, their ability to give their time translated just the same.

Short Stay, Lasting Contributions

In their short time with Habitat, they worked in our store on Cornwall Ave., contributed to our build for the VanDyken family, and even participated at our community block party this past weekend.

Please join us in thanking them for all their help and support!
